These are a pair of Shaker style or possibly authentic Shaker armchairs, featuring ladderbacks and splint flat weave seats. -Largest chair is 21 inches w x 16 d x 42 inches tall, with 14 inch seat height and four slats on the back. Remnants of green paint underneath one stretcher, scribe marks on frame and egg cup style finials. -Smaller chair is 21 inches w x 15 d x 40 inches tall, with 16 inch seat height, three slats and narrower elongated finials. Overall both have great patina and character. Age estimate circa early-mid 19th century, possibly earlier.
